Roagna, Crichet Pajé, Barbaresco, 1999

A specific limestone outcrop within the Pajé cru. Made from 65 year-old vines. This cuvée is aged for 8 to 10 years in big barrels. Intense, complex, dark fruit notes, balsamic, not as refined or floral as the riserva. This nebbiolo is closed and austere, and still needs time but is very promising. Maybe hold off for another five years before drinking?
