Roagna, La Rocca e la Pira, Barolo, 2004

Vines are planted on a mixture of sandy and rocky soil. This is darker and riper than Pajé. Almost prune-like in aromas and showing a darker side of nebbiolo. More density and more tannins. Younger mouthfeel. The overwhelming sensation is that of young, gripping tannins. Not mature. Needs a few more years.
