I met up with Angiolino Maule, owner of La Biancara in the Veneto, at the Villa Favorita natural wine fair in April this year (it takes every year at the same time as Vinitaly, Italy's biggest wine trade event of the year, so that journalists and importers can visit both on one trip). This weekend of tasting located in a beautiful manor near Verona and is open to both the trade and public, was setup by VinNatur, a pioneering natural wine organisation, in order to showcase the wines of its member producers.
The organisation itself was founded to further research into natural viticulture and winemaking, and are unique in the wine world as they are not only strigent on participation requirements but they also test all participating producers' wines for pesticides.
As you'll see in the video blog, I asked Angiolino a couple of questions about the Association and its objectives.
